Denis and Anne Velut's tiny 7.7 hectare farm is located in Montgueux, a commune famous for its unique terroir – specifically the high concentration of silex found in it's ancient chalk soils, a geographical anomaly which lends cutting minerality and smoky gunflint tones to its wines.
FARMING : Organic. No chemical fertilizers used; 100% pinot noir from vines planted in 1968.
WINEMAKING : Fermented in tank; 50% saignée / 50% carbonic maceration; aged 3 years sur latte.
